This house was home to William Henry Seward, formerly the United States Senator and Secretary of State in the cabinets of President Lincoln and Johnson. William Seward was responsible for negotiating the purchase of Alaska from Russia. The building features 17 Vicitorian-styled rooms and countless original items used by the Seward family.
A meeting place for youth conferences and a cultural enrichment center, the Tubman Home was previously home to Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman worked to free slaves from Southern United States in the 1800s and also served as a spy, scout and hospital nurse for the Union Army during the American Civil War.
